What do you currently do in the L&D space?

I currently work in Employee Learning and Development at Redstone Federal Credit Union. I’ve been with the credit union 36+ years and I’ve been in ELD for 24 years. My favorite part of my job is to be in on the ground floor when we add new products or services. This allows me to learn something new and then take it and create a way to place it within our training classes. My goal is always to help the end user better understand a process or procedure.

What do you like most about the Birmingham ATD?

The Birmingham ATD group has welcomed us into their fold ever since our North AL chapter dissolved. I have enjoyed being able to attend these sessions via Zoom since it’s not always possible for us to drive to Birmingham. The sessions I’ve been able to attend have been very interesting and informative.

What is your favorite project that you have worked on in your professional career?

One of my favorite projects that I’ve worked on at the credit union is our conversion to our new credit cards and new credit card system. Up until this point, our front line staff had to call another department to get answers on member’s credit cards. With the implementation of this new system, a member’s credit card information is all listed in one system and this makes it more efficient for our staff to handle these questions. The new credit card products we changed to included a better point reward system and redemption methods. This was a Win-Win all the way around.
