ATD Birmingham Chapter Administration

The Board of Directors are obligated to responsibly and effectively manage the chapter and its business on behalf of the members at large. While there are many aspects of this obligation, you will find some of the major components outlined on this page, including:

  • Chapter Bylaws: In essence, the chapter's bylaws contain the basic rules for the conduct of the organization's business and affairs. The bylaws may contain any provision for managing the business and regulating the organization's affairs that is not inconsistent with statutory law or the bylaws of ATD. The chapter's bylaws are reviewed annually by the Board of Directors.
  • Chapter Operating Plan: Each year, the Board of Directors is tasked with completing ATD's Chapter Affiliation Requirements (CARE) Survey and submitting an annual operating plan, which sets out the goals and strategic initiatives of the chapter.
  • Board of Director Job Descriptions: To maintain consistency and accountability, job descriptions for each position on the Board of Directors are reviewed annually. These job descriptions summarize the bulk of responsibilities performed by each Board Member. However, the Board of Directors is a collaborative group and responsibilities may be shared based on workload and availability.

Feel free to review the information provided below. Members can find more administrative information regarding financial performance and Board of Directors meeting minutes in the Members Only area of this site.
